Defence, Aviation & Space

In the defence sector, the Firm advises a wide spectrum of clients, including OEMs, technology providers, and suppliers, on regulatory, contractual and compliance-related issues. Our work also includes negotiating joint ventures and collaborations with foreign investment entities in accordance with the applicable defence procurement and FDI frameworks.

The Firm’s aviation practice covers a broad range of issues relating to both international and domestic civil aviation. We advise on legal, regulatory, and procedural aspects concerning airport disinvestment, modernization, and privatization, as well as the development of greenfield airports. Our team has substantial experience in matters involving scheduled, non-scheduled, and general aviation operations, including issues requiring the application of public and private international air law and relevant international civil aviation conventions.

With the rapid expansion of India’s private space ecosystem, the Firm has strengthened its focus on the space sector and regularly works with emerging and established private space companies in India. We provide advisory services on the evolving regulatory landscape, including India’s space policy framework, national space law developments, authorization and licensing requirements, commercial launch considerations, and contractual arrangements for space operations. Our team also advises government and private clients on the principles of international space law and international conventions governing outer space activities, particularly in the context of commercial participation and privatization of space-related services.
